In all the destruction of the war, Norway have understood the urgency and are looking to provide Ukraine with an aid package of $7.3 billion over 5 years. The Norwegian prime minister wants to make sure the Ukrainians understand that Norway will be supporting them for years to come. Also, that he hopes a large majority of the parliament will vote yes to the proposal.
The money is supposed to be divided equally between military and humanitarian assistance. Norway is one of the richest countries in the world, and the fact that the country stepped forward as an inspiration to other countries, is very important to the process of ending this war.
Norway was accused of profiting on the war because of the high demand of oil. The government have therefore said that all the profit the country earns on fossil fuel is going to be donated back to Ukraine to provide more aid.
